My parents got married when they were in their teens. By the time my mother was 23 years-old, she had five kids…five very rambunctious kids, I might add. Lord, what we put that poor woman through!
A few years ago, I was digging through some boxes in the attic and discovered a paean to my mom that I had written when I was in 1st grade.
To Mama,
I love you very much!
You are nice and pretty.
You try to teach me manner, but I forget every time.
You cook our meals and clean the house.
If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be living.
You buy my clothes and toys.
You buy my alergy medicine.
And you do lots of other things for me.
This is why I love you.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Y’all make the world go around.
Mike, you are such a momma’s boy! But I like it!
